SO STICKY & YUMMY YOU'LL WANT TO SUCK IT ALL DAY!

Is there anything better than caramelized ribs on the BBQ?

Especially with the weather getting better the smell of bbq is intoxicating same with the drinks.

Here is my "world" famous (world being my friend circle LOL) rib recipe.

Seriously, you can stop licking the screen now! Instead check to see if you have the goods below to make this belly filling deliciousness:

MEAT:

Ribs 1-2 racks - I prefer Back ribs as they have more bones and easier to cut into pieces.

SEASONINGS:

Pepper

Salt

Paprika

Onion Powder (if you don't have any skip it)

Brandy, Tequila, Vodka to keep you lubricated during this process.

FOR BOILING:

Coke/Pepsi - I prefer coke cause of its sweeter taste and it's just better. 2L or a few cans combined with water.

Garlic Cloves 5-8 for boiling

SAUCE:

Soy Sauce 1/4 Cup

Ketchup 1 Cup - I used French's but do enjoy a good '69 (Heinz)

Honey some for the ribs and a lot for you ;) 1/2 Cup

Garlic 4/5 diced (add more to taste!)

Before you commence your first date with the ribs, get a pot ready on the stove and add the coke! Also peel and slice in half 5 cloves of garlic and throw in. There is no exact measurement for the coke or cloves. I like the water to come just up to my neck so I'd say add 1 2L bottle or a few cans with water. The more coke the better. This not only adds flavour to your evening but tenderizes the meat.

Let the pot get all hot and steamy and ready for the ribs while you get to know them.

First cut your ribs into strips or chunks. I like cutting them into single bone strips....easier to get into my mouth.

Throw in a bowl or slap them all out on a bed so you can have some fun and season them.

Make sure you and ribs have a safe word so if it gets a little too rough or too seasoned they can let you know to back off.

How much to season? That is up to you! I never measure and I NEVER taste test the raw meat. I prefer mine FULLY cooked and ready to be eaten.

I just sprinkled a generous amount of the salt, pepper, paprika and onion powder.

Pretend you are using a whip and whip those spices in there.

Trust me this isn't hard.....that's what she said.

The next step you are going to get all sweaty, well the ribs will because you will be boiling them so DON'T be afraid to over season. If they stop begging for more then you should be good.

**Tip. I do enjoy seasoning my meat the night before and just let it sit and enjoy the experience of being wrapped in something a little spicy. This is not necessary though!

Once you are done playing with your ribs you are going to add them to the boiling coke.

It's time to bathe them and get them all relaxed so they can handle what's coming next.

While those bones are boiling ( approximately 45 mins - look to see if the meat at the ends are slightly peeling back from the bone) you are going to prep the sauce.

You will combine the ketchup (1 cup), Honey (1/2 cup), Soy Sauce (1/4 cup) and garlic diced (4-5 cloves or more)

Let the sauce sit and combine while the ribs finish their bath.

Next you will take the ribs piece by piece out of the boiling pot and help them dive deep into the sauce to get fully coated in all the sticky goodness.

**TIP I like to hold the piece from the pot up to drip a little before going into the sauce. Also don't worry about the sauce running off you will add more while BBQing.

Finishing wrapping them in this protective layer of sticky sauce before taking them out the BBQ

Now this is where you customize your experience.

You can BBQ low and slow or higher and hotter.

Higher the heat the faster it will darken and possible burn a little.

I like the low and slow so that they just brown and get nice and thick.

Pay attention, listen and really engage in the conversation while they sizzle on the grill.

They will tell you when they are ready for you to eat them.

Before eating, introduce them to your favourite beverage since they will spend some together in your stomach ;)

Cheers and have the wet naps ready!
